Continuing east along the north shore of the Town of Brookhaven, Suffolk County, Long Island, is the town of Port Jefferson.

This section of a 1907 map shows the Long Island Railroad going past Port Jefferson and Echo (now Port Jefferson Station) out to Wading River. Also shown is the ferry to Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Left: West Side of the harbor - mailed in 1908. Right: "At the West Side." This area is Dyers Neck. There are few cottages now. They have either been replaced, or remodeled extensively as year round residences.

Not dated, but it would have been taken in 1906. This and the next are real photographs. The silver in this one has reflected in the scan. Right: The same card Greene as left, but published as a tinted white border card by Oettinger Variety Store, Port Jefferson after 1915. The picture was also published in black and white by Beckwith's Pharmacy [105 Jones Street]. These two prints bear the Greene copyright date of 1906.

The Belle Terre Country Club is on the hill. Right: "Bathing Houses & Bayles Hill, Port Jefferson, L. I." mailed in 1906. The east side of the harbor.

Steamboat Landing and Park City, 1909 Dock, Port Jefferson, 1922This unsigned real photo card has the title on the pole and cross arm of the gate, "Steamboat Landing, Port Jefferson, L. I." The Park City is at the dock. It was mailed in 1908, and the card at the right in 1922.

"City of Worcester and Park City, Port Jefferson, L. I." This real photo postcard by A. S. Greene was mailed in 1909.

Bayle's Dock, Port Jefferson Port Jefferson 1902Left: "Bayle's Dock, Port Jefferson, L. I." printed before 1907 (undivided back). Right: A card mailed in 1902. The people were watching the launching of the ship at the far left. Some wanted a better view from the top of the poles.

Scene at Harbor, Port Jefferson "Scene at Harbor, Port Jefferson, L. I." No date. The last building with the flat roof you can read "Fine Groceries." The complete sign is "J.M. & G.F. Bayles Fine Groceries and Yacht Supplies." The ice plant, marked on the map would be next. In the middle is "Boat - Shop." The closest says "Launch" along the side.
