MORE POSTCARDS FROM MY COLLECTION
Albums containing most of my collection. Images can be viewed in three sizes.

The clipping above is from an 1887 children's book "Golden Chatterbox".

The portion of a petition shown above is not dated, but based on the other material it was with, it was probably from the 1930's or a little earlier. I don't know if any copies were sent to Washington, but Sunday service was obviously not granted.
To the Postmaster General, Washington, D. C.
We, the undersigned, residents of the district served by the Flushing, N. Y. Post Office, respectfully request that the following additional facilities be instituted as soon as possible:
1st. That the Post Office be opened on Sundays between the hours of 12 noon and 1 p. m. for the distribution of mail to those who may desire to go to the Post Office to get it; that general mail be received and sorted previous to the opening at 12 o'clock and that Special Delivery letters received on Sunday be delivered immediately.
2nd. That a branch Postal Station be opened in the vicinity of the Murray Hill R. R. Station.
3rd. That the present 8 o'clock evening Collection from certain mail boxes be extended to cover a larger portion of the central part of the town.
